Body Balance Physical Therapy in Lakeway provides integrated functional neurological physical therapy.

Zoe Crawford, Doctor of Physical Therapy, utilizes knowledge and advanced skills in orthopedic manual therapy, neurological recovery principles and motor control to improve function and independence for clients with Balance and Fall risks, Parkinson’s Disease, Peripheral Neuropathy, Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Movement Disorders, and other gait and balance disorders.

Dr. Crawford’s practice has one-on-one treatment sessions, which are vital to creating an environment that allows for consistency and intensity of sessions needed to create a long term positive change. Treatments and interventions are tailored to best support the underlying neurological processes and functional goals set by the patient and therapist.

We offer The LSVT BIG Program!

LSVT BIG trains people with Parkinson disease (PD) to use their body more normally. People living with PD or other neurological conditions often move differently, with gestures and actions that become smaller and slower. They may have trouble with getting around, getting dressed and with other activities of daily living. LSVT BIG effectively trains improved movements for any activity, whether “small motor” tasks like buttoning a shirt or “large motor” tasks like getting up from the sofa or chair or maintaining balance while walking. The treatment improves walking, self-care and other tasks by helping people “recalibrate” how they perceive their movements with what others actually see. It also teaches them how and when to apply extra effort to produce bigger motions – more like the movements of everyone around them.
