How can we Help you?

A sports injury can be physically, emotionally, and mentally devastating to an athlete. However, this can also be a motivator to return to be a better athlete than before the injury.

Your rehabilitation does not just stop when you have regained your full range of motion. After your surgery, you lose a significant amount of muscle strength and coordination and you will need to continue to build the strength and control around the area that was injured in movements that your sport demands.

Due to this, we begin to compensate to reduce the amount of force and strength that is needed at the previous injury which places more force at other joints in the body. This can lead to overuse injuries all because your previously injured leg doesn’t have the ability, coordination or confidence to take on the load that it normally needs to.

At Body Balance Physical Therapy, during your return to sport phase of your rehabilitation, your treatments are tailored to fit your specific needs of your position in your sport to strengthen you previously injured area and the rest of your body to assure you aren’t over compensating elsewhere and risking overuse injuries as a result to returning to play.
